Scarlett Johansson suited up for a screening and panel of the 2024 film “Thelma” featuring its star June Squibb in New York City on Thursday. For the occasion, Johansson put a casual twist on suiting, wearing a black suit, consisting of a double-breasted blazer with sharp lapels and wide-leg trousers. Beneath the blazer, Johansson wore a white T-shirt with a crewneck collar.
When it came to her footwear, Johansson opted for a pair of black, patent leather loafers. It was her accessories, however, that really stood out. The actress wore a necklace with translucent beads, along with stacks of bracelets, several small earrings and a few glittering rings.
As for her glam, Johansson kept it clean and simple. She opted for a natural makeup look, including slightly lined brows and eyes, a soft complexion and a glossy lip for an added touch of color. Her blond tresses were pulled back into a tight bun held together by a large clip.
Suited attire has quickly become a staple element of Johansson’s winter wardrobe over the course of the last several weeks. The “Jojo Rabbit” star favored two distinct suited looks during her surprise appearance on “Saturday Night Live” on Dec. 21, just ahead of the Christmas holiday.
For the episode, Johansson first styled a sleek, monochrome suit with a black blazer and coordinated vest beneath. She accessorized the look with layers of gold necklaces. At the conclusion of the episode, Johansson traded in her subdued attire for something sparkling. The actress wore a shimmering blazer that glittered under the Studio 8H stage lights.
Johansson’s latest public engagement and her suited attire goes to show how versatile power dressing can be. Dressed up or down, a quality black suit commands attention, asserts authority and provides a canvas on which accessories can add color and unique twists.
