Brigitte Macron demonstrated the versatility of power suit styling on Sunday, the final day of the 2024 Paris Olympics. France’s first lady attended the gold medal match between the French and American women’s basketball teams before the official closing ceremonies alongside her husband, French President Emmanuel Macron.
During the match between France’s and Team USA’s women’s basketball teams, Brigitte Macron wore a sapphire blue suited look. The blazer featured sharp lapels and rolled cuffs along with a statement belt at the waist. She paired the look with delicate layers of glittering necklaces and favored bold eye makeup.
During the match, which Team USA won 67-66, Macron appeared alongside her husband, who wore a white button-down shirt and black trousers, and Second Gentleman of the U.S. Douglas Emhoff, who wore a navy polo shirt by Ralph Lauren, the outfitter of Team USA for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Following the match, Macron changed her attire for the official closing ceremonies of the 2024 Paris Olympics. Macron favored black-and-white dressing for the occasion, wearing a white blazer with a sharp black collar, white lapels and black buttons.
The blazer featured a slim silhouette. Macron paired the piece with tailored black capri trousers. She also carried a small statement bag in black and wore delicate jewelry similar to the pieces she wore during the women’s basketball match.
During the closing ceremonies, Macron was joined again by her husband as well as officials and dignitaries who put the 2024 Paris Olympics together.
The closing ceremonies featured a star-studded spectacle, including Grammy- and Oscar-winning singer H.E.R. singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” while dressed in Ralph Lauren and Tom Cruise performing a “Mission Impossible” stunt. Billie Eilish also performed, putting a preppy spin on her Ralph Lauren attire.
Suited looks have long been a favorite of Macron. Throughout her time in France’s political spotlight, the French first lady has worn chic variations on tailored looks that remain true to her style sensibility.
Macron previously wore a Louis Vuitton skirt suit look for a gala dinner ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics and put a vibrant twist on political party colors during France’s latest round of elections last July.
