“This is Ralph Lauren if you can believe it,” deadpanned Hannah Einbinder, motioning to her floor-length halter dress. “Not to be political but it is Ralph Lauren.”
The star of “Hacks” – season three of which returns later this week – was on hand Monday evening inside Ralph Lauren’s New York offices for the brand’s fall 2024 runway show. She joined Glenn Close, Jessica Chastain, Kerry Washington and Nnamdi Asomugha and Rebecca Hall and Morgan Spector for the show, which was followed by a dinner at Polo Bar.
Spector was dressed in a pinstripe suit jacket and ivory trousers, which he said felt “very classic Ralph Lauren to me. I feel like a gentleman.”
The tailored look wasn’t all too far off from what his “Gilded Age” character might wear.
“If you just spend up the time lapse, ultimately this is where George Russel would end up,” Spector said.
Close had turned to her own closet for the night, pulling out a custom made Ralph Lauren suit she wore to the SAG Awards five years ago – and subsequently won the award in. She paired the look with towering silver platform sandals.
“I’m really not this tall!” she said, getting up from her seat. “Aren’t they amazing?”
Does she wear shoes this high often?
“No! I live in Bozeman, Montana!” she said. “I realized when I put them on, I was alone in my apartment and I realized, ‘oh my god, I haven’t worn shoes like this since the first Met Ball when I had those high pink Valentino [shoes],’” she said. “And I thought I was going to die. [Heels] are torture instruments – any woman will tell you.”
