In a post-match interview, Gauff explained the inspiration behind her 2025 Australian Open tennis kit. “I’m a huge Marvel fan, so a lot of the female superheroes have cool cutouts on their outfits so that’s what I wanted to do,” Gauff said.

“It is a bodysuit. Guys, if you can’t hold your bladder, it’s also not a good idea. But you have to sacrifice for fashion,” the venerated athlete said. “And then the skirt — I like to wear cargo pants so we made, like, a cargo skirt. And then my shoes are inspired by basketball shoes ’cause that’s the sport my dad wanted me to play.”

The athletic company inked an endorsement deal with Gauff in 2018, when the athlete was just 14 years old. By November 2022, Gauff signed a long-term extension with New Balance and introduced her own shoe — the Coco CG1. Gauff expanded her collaborations and partnerships with American Eagle, an endorsement with Rolex, Head and more.

The 2025 Australian Open concludes on Jan. 26 in Melbourne, Australia. Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus and Jannik Sinner of Italy return to defend their respective Women’s and Men’s Singles titles. The tournament also features such tennis stars as Frances Tiafoe, Iga Świątek and Novak Djokovic.
