Disney to Auction Off Beyoncé’s Marine Serre Catsuit, Swarovski Crystal Cinderella Slipper and More in Celebration of 100th Anniversary

Creations by Virgil Abloh, Valentino and Christian Louboutin are going up for sale as part of Disney’s 100th anniversary. The media company is staging Create 100, an auction taking place across 18 countries from Oct. 12 to 30.

Luxury labels and Disney creatives alike will provide items for the auction. Included are props and behind-the-scenes artifacts donated by Kevin Feige, Jennifer Lee and Jon Landau, who’ve produced films like “Frozen,” “Avatar” and “The Avengers.”

“Fans around the globe will have the chance to bid on unique items and experiences inspired by each creator’s personal connection to Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and 20th Century Studios’ stories and characters,” reads the brand’s press release.

Among the items included in the auction are a crescent print Marine Serre catsuit worn by Beyoncé in “Black Is King.” Disney+’s 2020 film featuring the Grammy-winning artist was a visual companion to “The Lion King: The Gift,” an album she curated for the film’s live-action reboot.

Swarovski’s replica of Cinderella’s glass slipper will also go up for auction. Based on shoes worn by Lily James in 2015’s “Cinderella,” the Aurora Borealis crystal pump features a jeweled butterfly embellishment. Crafted at Swarovski’s headquarters in the Austrian Alps, a team of eight artisans put 150 hours into making the slipper.

Adidas’ lead designer, Charlie Kirihara, created a pair of “Little Mermaid”-themed Adidas Gazelles for the auction. Laced with rope, the sneakers are adorned with bedazzled mermaid tail motifs.

Continuing its decades-long partnership with the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Disney will donate all proceeds from the auction to the nonprofit, which grants life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
