Jenna Ortega Goes for Sharp Angles in David Koma Cutout Dress for ‘Death of a Unicorn’ New York Screening

Jenna Ortega joined members of the “Death of a Unicorn” cast for the film’s New York City screening on Tuesday. The actress stars in the film alongside Paul Rudd, Téa Leoni, Will Poulter and Oscar-nominated actor Richard E. Grant.

Ortega opted for a strapless geometric dress courtesy of David Koma‘s pre-fall 2025 collection. The look featured an angular bodice with razor-like fabric extensions. The look also included a jewel-encrusted buckle detail.

Ortega’s dress featured a cutout at the torso and an elongated skirt for an asymmetric appearance. The actress added a pair of pumps to her look to complete the ensemble. As for her glam, Ortega’s hair was styled in a sleek look with straight tresses, which cascaded down her back courtesy of Bobby Eliot.

Her makeup included bold brows and dramatic eyes with a smokey effect. Ortega’s look was curated by stylist Enrique Melendez, who also dressed the actress throughout her promotional tour of “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” in 2024.

Koma’s pre-fall 2025 collection paid homage to and was inspired by the iconic Bond girls of yore, portrayed by Jill St. John, Grace Jones and Famke Janssen. The designer imagined the famous 007 agent as portrayed by a woman, with a bevy of styles gesturing to the Bond universe.

“In typical Koma fashion, he designed clothes only for the brave and statuesque: angular dresses with sharp ends; denim bodices with a faux fur trim; leather pencil skirts, and a croc-effect leather short skirt that emulated the shape of a spaceship,” Hikmat Mohammed wrote in WWD’s review of the collection.

Directed and written by Alex Scharfman, “Death of a Unicorn” follows father-daughter duo Elliot and Ridley, played by Rudd and Ortega respectively, who accidentally hit a unicorn on their drive to the wilderness retreat of a mega-wealthy pharmaceutical CEO, played by Grant. What ensues is a moral dilemma — do they harvest the unicorn for its curing properties, or set the creature free before it’s too late? The film hits theaters March 28.
