Sarah Jessica Parker paid homage to her iconic tutu look from the opening credits of the “Sex and the City” series while filming Season Three of “And Just Like That” in New York City this week.
The actress wore a hot pink sequined top tucked into a billowing maroon-burgundy Molly Goddard Jess skirt, featuring hand-stitched tulle corsages peeking through the sheer fabric. This tutu, from the brand’s fall 2024 collection, achieves an exaggerated yet softened look by using two tones of tulle for a blurring effect.
Over the top, she wore a floor-length red-and-black checkered coat. She accessorized with an oval, off-centered structured beret, secured with a pink ribbon cascading down to her skirt. She also wore statement earrings, a tan kiss-lock handbag and shiny hot pink satin peep-toe heels.
Fashion aficionados have been indulging in the new “And Just Like That” looks from stars Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, as they reprise their roles as Carrie Bradshaw, Charlotte York Goldenblatt and Miranda Hobbes, respectively, along with Sarita Choudhury as Seema Patel and Nicole Ari Parker as Lisa Todd Wexley. Costume designers Molly Rogers and Danny Santiago, who helmed the first two seasons’ looks are back at work, simultaneously creating modern looks while reintroducing cherished pieces from Carrie Bradshaw’s closet.
The white tutu in the “Sex and the City” intro famously only cost $5 in 1997, when costume designer Patricia Field bought five identical tutus from a $5 bin in New York City’s Garment District. In 2024, it went up for auction at Julien’s “Unstoppable: Signature Styles of Iconic Women in Fashion” auction. It was estimated to fetch up to $12,000 but sold at an auction in for $52,000.
