Sha’Carri Richardson put a sporty spin on corsetry while attending the men’s basketball final at the 2024 Paris Olympics on Saturday.
The track and field star, who won her first Olympic gold medal for the women’s 4 x 100 meters relay on Friday, selected a custom top made of earth-toned Nike Dunks by FriskMeGood. Designer Cierra Boyd, who specializes in upcycling sneakers into garments, has previously dressed stars like Cardi B and GloRilla.
Richardson paired the corset with a denim workwear-inspired set including a cropped jacket and carpenter pants. She accessorized with a red Louis Vuitton Speedy designed by the label’s current creative director of menswear, Pharrell Williams.
The athlete was seated next to Jimmy Fallon and Carmelo Anthony during the game, which saw Team USA take home its fifth consecutive gold medal in men’s basketball.
Stylists Sankara Turé and Khalilah Beavers coordinated Richardson’s custom look for the occasion. Turé is known for her work with Lil Jon, Jermaine Dupri and Saweetie, while Beavers also counts Anthony and NBA star Jimmy Butler as clients.
Richardson also debuted a new set of nails after switching them out several times during the 2024 Games. This time, her long manicure featured black and orange tips reminiscent of a tiger print.
For her gold medal-winning race, Richardson’s nails were emblazoned with the Olympic rings and Hamsa-shaped gems.
