Sustainability Event to Convene Industry Leaders

Leading up to Earth Month, WWD’s sister brand, Sourcing Journal, will hold its third annual Road to 2030 Sustainability Summit, gathering industry professionals to network, brainstorm and learn.

This full-day, in-person event will be held on March 26 at the Tribeca Rooftop event space in New York. Titled “A Need for Radical Cooperation,” the program will spotlight collaboration’s pivotal role in scaling sustainability.

“Though it may seem like common sense, the need to work together has to be addressed,” said Pete Sadera, Sourcing Journal’s editor in chief. “Our industry has lofty goals and promises regarding sustainability, and it is paramount that we come together if we want to actually achieve them.”

Brand speakers include Logan Duran, vice president, ESG and sustainability, Tapestry; Randi Marshall, head, U.S. government and public affairs, H&M Americas; Inka Apter, director, material sustainability and integrity, Eileen Fisher; Dana Davis, vice president, sustainability, product and business strategy, Mara Hoffman; Lisa Diegel, director, global sustainability, Faherty Brand; Michael Levine, vice president and chief sustainability officer, Under Armour; James Rogers, vice president, sustainability, Rothy’s; Seneiya Navajas, sustainability senior manager, Fast Retailing U.S./Uniqlo; Mary Ankeny, vice president, product development and implementation operations, and Dr. Jesse Daystar, chief sustainability officer and vice president, sustainability, both from Cotton Inc.; Jean Hegedus, director, sustainability, The Lycra Company, with more speakers from fiber companies, labs, traceability platforms, recycling companies, associations and more.

Not just for sustainability executives

Attention to sustainability continues to grow at the corporate level, with companies adding bona-fide sustainability executives to their C-suites. Even so, the summit will show how environmental and social responsibility initiatives shape sourcing, product design, raw material development, manufacturing, compliance, financing, operational decisions and more.

Join this full-day lineup of speakers and panels to learn:

  • How the industry can overcome sustainability burnout
  • What climate change means for long-term sustainability
  • Why traceability is equally important pre- and post-purchase
  • All the legislation that is coming and how to increase compliance transparency
  • How CSR and ESG should be looked at as opportunities, not obligations
  • How to scale up material innovations to boost industry buy-in and bring prices down
  • What will drive investment in sustainability
  • How brands can better market sustainability to avoid a consumer disconnect
